No. The video file never leaves your device, the video is decoded and the captions rendered in your browser tab; only compressed audio is sent to a transcription provider and is deleted right after processing. On-device processing is available as an opt-in on capable devices.
How accurate are the captions?
Clear, close-microphone speech is usually very accurate. Proper names, slang, heavy accents and noisy recordings are where mistakes show up. Every word is clickable, so a quick read-through before exporting catches the stragglers.
Which languages are supported?
English, Hindi and Urdu, including mixed Hindi-English (Hinglish) speech. You pick the language before transcribing; Hindi/Urdu comes back either in its own script (Devanagari or right-to-left Urdu) or as Roman Hinglish typed the way phones spell it (kya, nahi, accha), same words, never translated.
What can I export?
Four formats from the same project: an MP4 with the captions burned into the frames, an SRT subtitle file, a WebVTT (.vtt) file and a plain-text transcript (.txt). MP4 is ready to post; SRT and VTT are for platforms and players that attach subtitles themselves.
How many caption styles are there?
27 built-in styles. The free tier includes three of them, and any paid plan unlocks all of them plus the font picker. Locked styles preview live (animated) before you commit.
What happens with background music?
The studio detects where speech actually happens and listens there, leaning on the voice rather than the music; loud bass gets a dedicated cleanup chain. If the music truly covers the voice, it tells you that instead of inventing words.
